Oreos Are Coming Out With A Delicious New Flavor Just In Time For Christmas

With a tagline like, "Milk's favorite cookie,"  you know the Oreo brand is a force to be reckoned with.

Introduced in 1912, these iconic cookies have fended off competitors and knock-offs, while staying innovative by introducing several new flavors throughout the years.

Although not all of them have been hits, their flavors, such as Waffles and Syrup, Swedish Fish, and Cherry Cola, have given the public something to talk about.

But, this latest reincarnation may just be the best one yet.

Introducing the Peppermint Bark Oreos

Even though some may say it's too soon to deck the halls, Oreo has come out with a brand new flavor that'll get anyone's mouth watering - Peppermint Bark.

Not to be confused with the peppermint-flavored Oreos that debuted in 2013, this new cookie has a distinct flavor that makes them both truly unique.

Unlike its predecessor, the Peppermint Bark Oreos are described as "peppermint-flavored crème with crunchy sugar crystals," that'll put you right in the  cookie-dunking mood.

These limited edition Oreos can be found online at Amazon, Target, and Walmart, and the Instagram account @thejunkfoodaisle has also said they found the treats at WinCo Foods.

Once they rated the festive cookies a 4.6 out of 5 stars, Oreo fans couldn't wait to get their hands on the new delicacy.

Reactions

When the Peppermint Bark Oreos had been announced, social media users flocked to The Junk Food Aisle's Instagram page to voice their excitement.

"So excited about about these. I'm one of those people that eat everything peppermint bark during the holidays," one person commented.

"Imagine having a few of these bad boys with some hot cocoa sitting in front of the Christmas tree. We may [just] have to make that happen this year!" another wrote.

Someone else chimed in, "Just letting you know now that I'm gonna OD on these this winter."

However, these aren't the only cookie brand that have unveiled a new festive treat.

Pillsbury makes its move

Earlier this month, Pillsbury announced they would be introducing a new design on their ready-to-bake sugar cookies.

We've seen hearts, pumpkins, snowmen, and Christmas trees displayed on the delicious baked good, but now General Mills have teamed up with the creators on one of the holiday's most beloved movies, Elf, to celebrate its 15th anniversary.

For those unfamiliar with the classic film, Will Ferrell plays a Buddy, a human who grew up believing he was an elf.

Although the Pillbury won't have Buddy's face plastered on the cookies, his signature elf hat will be on full display, and can be found at Target, Walmart, Kroger and Safeway.

Unfortunately, these cookies are the closest thing fans will have to an Elf revival, as Ferrell said there would "absolutely not" be a sequel in a 2013 interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live.

"It would look slightly pathetic if I tried to squeeze back into the Elf tights," he told host Andy Cohen.
