When it comes to welcoming a new in-law into your family, it's normal to feel anxious whether or not you'd all get along.

But thankfully, most of the time the fear is unwarranted and loving relationships between the new relatives are formed.

This particular situation rings true to Meghan Markle, who most likely had the jitters when Prince Harry introduced her to his family, otherwise known as the most powerful members in the British monarchy.

"He's got a real soft spot for her and thinks she's the best thing to have happened to Harry."

Although it's been nearly a year since Meghan and Harry tied the knot, she's still finding it difficult to decipher who she can trust as a newfound royal.

But luckily for the Duchess of Sussex, she has all the support she needs from Harry and unexpectedly, Prince Charles.

According to a royal insider, the Prince of Wales has developed a "lovely relationship" with the Suits alum.

"Charles showed so much love towards Harry and Meghan, and I think Harry will be eternally grateful to his papa for stepping in and giving Meghan's hand in marriage," the source told Vanity Fair.

"The bond between them is very close," they continued, adding that Charles has shown great compassion for his daughter-in-law as she navigates through her strained relationship with her own father.

"Charles has been very supportive of Meghan and everything she is going through with her own father. He's got a real soft spot for her and thinks she's the best thing to have happened to Harry."

The public got their first glimpse of their close bond on Harry and Meghan's wedding day, when Charles was requested to perform the one of the most meaningful tasks.

"I'll do whatever Meghan needs and I'm here to support you."

In the documentary, Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Harry shared how his father reacted when he was asked to walk Meghan down the aisle.

"I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said 'Yes, of course, I'll do whatever Meghan needs and I'm here to support you,'" he said.

"For him that's a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he's our father so of course he's gonna be there for us."

When it was time for Charles to give the former actress away, Harry was seen mouthing the words "thank you" to the heir to the throne, which made the moment even more touching.

"You've gotta say thank you. Just because he's my father that doesn't mean I can just sort of go, 'Okay, that's all, I'll take it from here.'"

Charles' wife Camilla Parker Bowles agreed with her stepson's sentiments, and said that while she missed the moment at the chapel, she did watch the exchange on television.

"I think that was very touching, sitting where I was, you couldn't hear what he said. But afterwards watching it on the television, I... I think it was a very... it was a lovely gesture," she said in the documentary.

The Duchess of Cornwall said Charles' performs several sweet gestures the public often miss out on, but she was pleased the media caught Charles take Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, by the arm as they went to sign the marriage register.

"A lot of people, seeing my husband actually take the bride's mother by the hand to sign the registry, it's something that moved everybody," Camilla said.

"It's the things he does behind the scenes that people don't know about. I don't think people realize quite how kind he is."
