Caramels are one of the best sweets out there, and making them yourself sometimes seems a little daunting. Luckily, it's actually not as hard as you thought! Also, the fresh ones taste SO much better than the store bought ones so you should totally give these a try!
Adding the sea salt really gives these caramels a delicious flavor, and they would actually be great to make for either parties or even as a gift! Wrap a few up in a cute box and people will be so grateful! Try them out now!

Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter (plus extra for greasing dish)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Sea salt, garnish
Directions:
Heat a saucepan to a medium heat. Add cream, sugars and corn syrup making sure to stir constantly so the sugars don't burn.





Let them bubble until thick. Continue to boil for about 8 to 10 minutes until the mixture is a deep golden brown.

Add in the vanilla, salt and butter, whisking together until combined, then remove from heat.




Pour into a greased baking dish, then sprinkle sea salt over the top.


Let it cool completely before trying to remove it.

Cut into bit sized pieces and enjoy!
