In case you don't remember Basic Instinct was a 1992 film starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone. The film follows a police detective, Nick Curran (Douglas), who is investigating the brutal murder of a wealthy rock star. During the investigation Curran becomes involved in a torrid and intense relationship with the prime suspect, Catherine Tramell (Stone), an enigmatic writer.

Even before its release, Basic Instinct generated heated controversy due to its overt sexuality and graphic depictions of violence. Sharon took on the role of femme fatale and in a who in one iconic scene attempted to distract interrogation police by criss crossing her legs - without wearing any underwear. That scene is regarded as one of the most iconic moments in film history. In a 2006 interview, Stone alleged that parts of the scene that showed her lady parts as she crossed her legs was filmed without her knowledge.
Despite initial critical negativity and public protest, Basic Instinct became one of the most financially successful films of the 1990s, grossing $352 million worldwide.

Sharon Stone Has Recreated The Image
The 61-year-old actress posed topless while floating in a swimming pool for the cover of May's Issue of "Vogue Portugal" ... and appears in a series of racy shots inside the mag too.
The provocative set includes Sharon in fishnets and stiletto heels -- legs spread wide open -- staring defiantly at the camera. The pose pays homage to her iconic 'Basic' scene in which she uncrosses her legs during a police interrogation to reveal she isn't wearing underwear.
Age is just a number folks! May we all be as blessed as Sharon has been.
