Cling, saran, plastic wrap, or whatever else you like to call it is an extremely useful thing to have in your house, but it can be a pain to use more often than not.
I used to always keep them in my kitchen drawer or plastic wrap dispenser, but not anymore!
They would always tear half way or get bunched up right before I was about wrap something.
To be fair, they're meant to cling onto practically anything, so it would make sense that they would cling to itself.
But there's a solution to temporarily reduce its clinginess, and still use the wrap for what it's intended!
Stop storing your plastic wrap at room temperature and put it in the freezer instead.
Plastic wrap is made of polyethylene, which is the most commonly used plastic compound in the world, and the molecules are really right and naturally stick.
The manufacturers of this product also add adhesives to make it even more sticky.
However, these adhesives don't work well in cold temperatures, and will temporarily lose that clingliness when you put it in the freezer.
So when you take it out and rip off a piece, the material is still cool and you don't have to worry about wasting any of the product.
Once it warms up a bit, the plastic will go back to its original form and cling to whatever you need it to.
Also, if you don't want to store your plastic wrap in the freezer all the time, you can put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes before you use it to achieve the same effect.
Another trick that'll make using plastic wrap much easier is making use of the push tabs on the side of the box.
Simply push on the tabs while the plastic wrap is in the box, then you can take out any amount of plastic without a struggle.
