The American people have spoken.
Taco Bell was voted the best Mexican restaurant of 2018 in the U.S. after Harris Poll EquiTrend Study surveyed over 77,000 consumers about their favorite restaurants based on quality, familiarity and future considerations.
"Taco Bell's marketing is ubiquitous so it wasn't surprising to me that they came out on top this year. It's not so much that Moe's or Chipotle are falling off the map. Taco Bell has just been a stronger brand as of late, as demonstrated by the strong familiarity and consideration marks," the director of the survey, Amir Kanpurwala, said in a press release.
I love Taco Bell. I don't care it's fast food. the quality is so much better than other fast food places.— Laurel A Rockefeller (@laurelworlds) September 14, 2018
Personally, I'm not surprised by this win, since Taco Bell's revenue has been increasing over the past few years.
They're constantly rolling out new and interesting menu items like the Nacho Fries and watermelon freeze drink.
That being said, not everyone agrees with the results of the survey...

It's nothing like real Mexican food. Not even close. Suspect the people responding have never been to Mexico— Tom Rodman (@Tom92024) September 14, 2018
