Walmart Is Now Selling Fruit-Punch Flavored Pickles And We Wish We Were Kidding

The creators behind novelty foods never cease to amaze with every new product launch. Now that America has reached peak avocado, it seems like they've moved on to a new food craze with pickles.

The new "it" food has been making appearances in a variety of products including soda, candies and popsicles.

More recently, brands have been trying to expand their pickle offerings and Great Value, Walmart's home brand may have found success with its newest pickle-inspired product.

The discount retailer unveiled the new fruit-punch flavored pickles this week and our taste buds are more confused than ever.

"The modern-day couple, the pickle and fruit punch met on social media (they bonded over recipes on Pinterest, to be exact); now, we are celebrating their union on Walmart shelves," Walmart said in a statement.

Find out the inspiration behind "Tropickle" and how you can get your hands on a jar on the next page.

While the idea of mixing fruit juice and pickles may seem novel to some of us that are less adventurous with our food, it is not exactly new.

The trend reportedly popular is the southern states and online platforms such as Pinterest and food blogs have apparently been featuring DIY versions of these special pickles for years.

It not very far-fetched to assume that Walmart's Tropickles may have been inspired by the very popular Kool-Aid soaked pickles known as the Koolickle.

Tropickles made their debut on Walmart shelves across the country on July 14 and are available in 1,200 locations. You can snag a jar at your nearest store for $2.

Will you be trying out the new Tropickles? Let us know in the comments!
