The fast food wars just got a lot more intense!

Less than a week after McDonald's announced their "Bacon Hour" promotion taking place on January 29, Wendy's is stealing their thunder with their very own special deal.

After teasing that "there's no telling what we'll do next week...or the next week," Wendy's is offering free Baconator cheeseburgers to its customers from now through February 4.

"We've always owned bacon and that's not changing because our competitors are throwing a happy hour to celebrate its importance," said Kurt Kane, Wendy's executive vice president, chief concept and marketing officer. "Bacon is at the core of what we do at Wendy's, and we aren't afraid to throw down the gauntlet. After all, that's why we're the #1 seller of bacon cheeseburgers."

Never one to back down from competition, Wendy's teamed up with the food delivery app DoorDash for this offer.

You'll have to download the app and use the code FREEBACONATOR at checkout to get a free Baconator and free delivery with every $10 purchase.

Just keep in mind that the code for the freebie can only be used once, but you can enjoy unlimited $0 delivery until February 4th.

In case you haven't tried the Baconator yet, this is your chance to indulge in the burger filled with two beef patties, American cheese, six pieces of Applewood smoked bacon, ketchup, and mayonnaise.

While the Wendy's deal is pretty great, it is only limited to the burger. If you'd like to have bacon on other items, you'll want to head to McDonald's between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. this evening.

The burger chain will let its customers add their new thick cut, Applewood smoked bacon to anything they order without extra charge.

The special promotion is part of the restaurant's official launch of a trio of bacon-filled items, including the Big Mac Bacon, Quarter Pounder Bacon, and Cheesy Bacon Fries.

Will be heading to Wendy's or McDonald's for your bacon fix?
