Rob Lowe is no stranger to the lime light.

Movies, TV shows, and celebrity scandals. He's been a part of them all.

But now, Lowe is taking his talents to new heights: he's been chosen as the new Colonel Sanders for Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Lowe will be representing the new Zinger chicken sandwich for KFC, and he has a personal connection as to why he said yes to the project.

"My grandfather was the head of the Ohio chapter of the National Restaurant Association in the 1960s and took me to meet Col. Harland Sanders when I was a kid," Lowe says. "It was a big deal. I thought this would be a nice homage to both Colonel Sanders and to my grandfather."
