Girl Gives Up Her 6th Birthday Party So She Can Help The Homeless

When Armani Crews started planning her 6th birthday party with her parents, she made a surprising decision. In the months approaching her birthday she started to tell her parents she wanted to feed the homeless people in their community.

Her parents thought she was kidding, but still offered to make them sandwiches. Armani decided that wasn't good enough and said "No, I want the same thing we'd have at my birthday party."

Her parents told her that if she did this that it would be her birthday present but she persisted. So the Chicago family planned an event, spending about $300 to buy food for the community.

They served pizza, chicken, fish, spaghetti and of course cake! Instead of loot bags, they gave out little care packages that included toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, snacks and some other toiletries all donated by the local church.

Armani was thrilled with being able to feed more than 125 people saying that "it was nice to be nice."

The 6-year-old loved helping others so much that she wants to keep doing it. The family is planning on returning to the park within the next couple of weeks to help out.
