Will Smith is probably one of the most famous actors. Thanks to his long career and his blockbuster success, his name is known worldwide.

Smith is known as a rapper, actor, and of course, a loving father and husband. But it's his relationship with his oldest son that has caused the star to get chocked up on an emotional post to Instagram.

Smith is traveling in Abu Dhabi, and he shared a video after he returned to his hotel and it's something that anyone who has had a difficult relationship with their child can appreciate.

He speaks directly to the camera and shares a recent moment he shared with his son.

"So I'm in Abu Dhabi at the F1. I brought my son Trey. We've been hanging and I usually take my kids separately on stuff so they have their individual daddy time... So we've been doing this, hanging at the F1, and he said, 'You know what dad? I just realized you're not just my dad.' He paused and said, 'I'm pretty sure you're my best friend.'"

Smith looked at the camera in shock, clearly still taken back by his son's sweet words. The comment he posted with the video reveal that he hadn't always had this open and easy relationship with his son.

"It has not always been like this between Trey & I. We STRUGGLED FOR YEARS after my Divorce from his Mother. He felt betrayed & abandoned. It is a Wild Blessing to recover & restore a Loving Relationship with My Beautiful Son!" Smith wrote in the comment.

Trey even reposted the sweet video, with a comment that said "Awwwww shucks ♥️ you too big guy."

Smith separated from Trey's mother Sheree Zampino in 1995, but they've managed to remain close even after he remarried. Zampino actually commented on the video herself, including a shout-out to Smith's wife Jada Pinkett-Smith.

"Awwwwwwwww...thank you baby daddy!!!!!! I love you back! And thank you [Trey] for being the reason we came together. And to [Jada Pinkett-Smith] for being an understanding, secure, and absolutely AMAZING wife, mother, Bonus-mom, and Co-parenting partner!"

It's nice to see this family has mended all of the hurt of the past and found a way to come together.
