Correction:

The article we published originally was unfortunately an inflated claim. At the time of publishing we got caught up in the excitement of the possibility of this being true. We were alerted to this fact by the website Lead Stories.

Lead Stories uses the Trendolizer™ engine to detect and debunk the latest trending fake news stories and hoaxes found on known fake news sites & networks, prank generators and satirical websites. They believe fact checking and speed are the best weapons in the fight against untruths going viral and so do we, which is why I am putting up this correction.

Lead Stories asks: "Did a scientific study conclude that women with "big butts" have smarter children? No, that's not true: It is a misleading simplification of a review of several studies more than a decade old of the role that lower-body fat plays in women's health and the pre-natal development of her children. One study does find a woman's "waist-to-hip ratio" is a possible predictor of a mother and child's performance on cognitive test, but the ratio is not related to "big butts." The studies mostly relate to possible health benefits -- not intellect -- of fat found in the legs compared to fat stored higher in the body."
