Every so often an internet video comes along that just gives the whole world a case of the giggles.

Most recently, the cause of all the laughter is an unassuming Scottish grandma named Janice Clark, who just couldn't make it through a very silly picture book.

Originally posted in a small Facebook sewing group, Clark's hilarious reading has since been watched more than four million times.

If you're in a bad mood right now, we challenge you to make it through the entire video without cracking a smile.

"This is going to kill me!"

Originally from Scotland, Clark now lives in Australia, close to her daughter, Fiona, and her grandson, Archer.

Fiona was the one who roped her mother into reading The Wonky Donkey, a popular children's book from New Zealand, to Archer.

But it wasn't long before the book's tongue-tying lines and Clark's thick Scottish accent combined to make a total mess of the book, leaving the whole family in hysterics.

Lines like "spunky, hanky-panky cranky stinky dinky lanky honky-tonky winky wonky donkey" drove Clark to laugh until tears were streaming down her face.

"Oh dear, how can anybody read this seriously?" she asked. "This is going to kill me!"

Clark later said she had no idea her daughter was filming the hilarious scene.

She revealed her first reaction to the news that it had gone viral was, "Oh what have they done."

The Wonky Donkey Goes Global

While Clark's reading is spreading joy around the world, the book's author, Craig Smith, is laughing all the way to the bank.

The Wonky Donkey was already a hit in New Zealand and Australia, but sales have skyrocketed around the world since Clark's video went viral.

Smith told The Guardian his publisher is racing to print "another 50,000 copies, with a view for more."

And shoppers looking to get their hands on the book have found it selling for outrageous prices as copies are nearly sold out.

But Smith sees more than dollars and cents in the book's newfound fame.

"Watching Janice read and laugh was just delightful, and like many, her infectious laugh had me laughing too," he said.

As of now, a handful of hard copies of The Wonky Donkey are still available, and so is the digital version for Kindle.

Clark says she is "absolutely overwhelmed" and "amazed" by her video's popularity.

"It was a wee video that my daughter made of us together and I didn't even know she was doing it," she told Scotland's The National.

"I've been so touched by some of the comments that some people have left, it's been just lovely, and I'm glad I've been able to make somebody happy, somebody smile, even if [in one of the comments] someone even wet their pants!"
