When thinking about passing away, most people think about if they want to get buried or cremated. But now in the era of possibilities, you can get turned into a diamond after you die.

If you saw the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, you probably saw that Kris Jenner was looking into turning her ashes into diamonds when she eventually passes.

If you live a not-so Kardashian lifestyle like me, you probably also had no idea you could turn into a diamond when you die. Well, it's not just a Kardashian privilege. Anyone can do it, if you have enough money that is.  

There is a company in Chicago called LifeGem that can turn your ashes into diamonds for your family to keep.

This is how it works:

The company states that the process is as close to natural diamond formation as possible. Where normal diamonds are created when intense heat and pressure are applied to carbon, whereas memorial diamonds are made with the carbon found in human remains, which is then put through a machine that replicates that amount of compression. From there, the stone will be cut, polished, and, if requested, engraved.

These diamonds range in price anywhere from $3,000 to $20,000 depending on the amount of carats chosen.

If you're wondering if the wrong person's ashes could get mixed into the ring, the company assures that their formation process guarantees that each stone is made in isolation from other remains.

Once the diamonds are made, they can then be turned into rings, necklaces or even earrings for your loved ones.
