He then went on to star in films like Hairspray, Charlie St. Cloud, and Baywatch. We watched as he grew from the young, good-looking high school student to the smoldering man he is today. The actor most recently reminded us of his musical talents by starring in the Golden Globe winning movie, The Greatest Showman.

However, when it was announced that Efron would be portraying infamous serial killer Ted Bundy in an upcoming movie, people were wondering how he would pull off the part. Of course, Bundy lured his victims using his charm and good looks, which Efron has plenty of. But it still left a lot of questions unanswered.

After months of speculation, we've finally gotten a glimpse at what Efron is going to look like as the most prolific serial killer of all time, and it's not what we were expecting.

Efron took to social media to share the first image of him in costume, and it's chilling. The actor posted a picture of him as Bundy getting ready to take a mug shot. Even though it's not a close-up, we still get the idea.

The movie will follow Bundy's criminal timeline, but will be told from the perspective of his longtime girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer. She refused to believe the truth about Bundy for years. Liz will be portrayed by Lily Collins, who also shared an image of herself in costume.

For anyone who has questions about Efron being cast in such a serious role, he certainly has a vote of confidence from the movie's producer.

"I have been trying to work with Zac Efron for a long time," producer Nicolas Chartier said in an interview. "From his dramatic turn in Paperboy to his hilarious performance in Neighbors, he continues to impress audiences and critics alike with his extraordinary versatility and range. We couldn't be more excited to see him in this amazing role."

The film, called Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, does not have a release date yet, but will undoubtedly be a must-see.
