If we had to make a list of the nicest people in Hollywood, there's only one actor we would put in the top spot.

Through the years, Jumanji star Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson has shared his random acts of kindness on social media. He bought his mom a Cadillac, then a new home, and even surprised his stunt double cousin with a suped-up truck.

This week, Johnson, 46, surprised his father, Rocky, with a heartfelt gift before sharing the emotional story behind it with fans.

"I just got off the phone with my dad and, man, it was a great call and I just had to share this with you guys really quick," he said in an Instagram video.

"So about two, three weeks ago, I called my dad and I said, 'Look, you're probably happy where you're at but I want to do something for you. I want to buy you a brand new home, wherever you want to live, you can live.'"

Johnson said his dad was "speechless" after hearing the offer, but planned a trip to Florida to scout out his potential properties.

While both Johnson and his father were tough as nails pro wrestlers, the actor revealed they got emotional discussing the special gift.

"My dad's an old-school tough guy," he told his fans. "I said, 'What the hell are you nervous about?' And he said, 'Well,' he was searching for words. 'No one ever called to tell me they were gonna buy me a house before and the fact that it's you, it's my son, I'm so proud of you and I love you so much.'"

Johnson said the heartfelt thank-you from his dad meant a lot, especially because he wasn't always so close with his father.

"You know, my dad used to beat my a--," he said.

"Tough love, and I hated it back then, but I'm so grateful for it now. It just felt good to kind of give back to the ones who raised you. So, love you too, Pop."

Johnson's mother, Ata, was just as thankful when he surprised her with a new house last Christmas.

"The first home my parents ever lived in was the one I bought for them in 1999," the actor wrote about the big gift.

"They divorced about [five years] later and as with life, stuff happens and things got a little complicated. Since then I always made sure my mom and dad have everything they'll ever need."

Johnson has also splurged on new cars for his dad, his uncle, and even his housekeeper in the past, proving just how much family means to him.

It's the same kind of loving devotion that makes Johnson such a great dad to his own daughters, 17-year-old Simon, 3-year-old Jasmine, and baby Tiana.
