A guest at Anaheim, California's Disneyland Hotel claims that she was attacked by bed bugs in a new lawsuit.

Ivy Eldridge complains she developed a nasty skin rash after staying at the hotel in April, and claims the hotel didn't notify her about a bedbug infestation.

In the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, she claims the bugs "sucked her blood until they were gorged," and that she needed medical treatment for the resulting rash.

The LA Times reports that photos included in the lawsuit appear to show red bite marks across her shoulders, neck, back, and ears.

Liz Jaeger, a spokeswoman for Disneyland, did not comment on the lawsuit, but said in a statement that "these occurrences are extremely rare."

"We take extensive preventative measures so that our guests are comfortable and safe during their hotel stays and when needed take aggressive steps to rectify," she said.

Elridge's lawyer, Brian Virag, claims that Disneyland has faced complaints about bed bugs before, and notes they were sued in 2016 over bed bug problems at their Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

He argues they should have known better before Elridge's stay.

"They did not provide a bed bug-free hotel room," he wrote.

The lawsuit adds that Disneyland's failure to clean up its act "was so extreme and outrageous as to go beyond all bounds of decency."

While there's no dollar amount attached to the lawsuit, it seeks punitive damages against Disneyland, along with compensation for Elridge's physical and mental suffering.

The complaint says that she "endured many sleepless nights and much emotional and mental distress, coupled with other physical conditions associated with severe mental and emotional distress."
