  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • ¼ cup dijon mustard
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • ½ tablespoon salt
  • ½ tablespoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 pound bacon, cut in half
  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup lettuce, chopped
  • 1 tomato, sliced

For the cheese sauce:

  • 1 ½ cups milk, divided
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup mozzarella, shredded
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ cup dijon mustard

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a cookie sheet with a wire rack on top.
  2. In a bowl, add the ground beef, dijon mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder, mixing well to combine.
  3. Transfer mixture to the prepared wire rack on the cookie sheet, creating a ring. Gently press down until it’s about 2 inches thick.
  4. Wrap the bacon around the meat ring, tucking underneath.
  5. Bake 20 minutes, then broil 15-20 minutes on high heat until the bacon crisps up.
  6. Meanwhile, to make the cheese sauce, in a medium pot over medium heat, add ½ cup of milk and flour, whisking until thickened. Add in the rest of the milk and the salt, stirring about 5 minutes, or until bubbling and thickened, then remove from heat.
  7. Quickly stir in the cheeses, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and dijon mustard, then set aside in a serving bowl.
  8. Split the Hawaiian rolls, placing the bottom buns in a circle, then carefully transfer the meat ring on top. Add lettuce and tomato, then place the tops of the buns on top.
  9. Place the cheese sauce in the middle of the burger ring, then slice and serve. Enjoy!
