Football season is in full swing, but you don't even have to like sports to like these! Football Pizza Pockets taste good no matter what your sporting preferences are!
Pizza Pockets are a favorite for those who are young or just young at heart. As great as pizza is, having it in a pocket shape just makes it a lot more fun! Try these out for your Super Bowl parties or just because you love pizza! Either way, you're going to love them!
- 1 pack of pizza crust
- 1/4 cup pizza sauce
- 4 oz pepperoni
- 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg (beaten with 1tbsp of cold water)
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Roll out your dough and use a round cookie cutter to cut circles out of the pizza dough.
Trim the circles into the football shapes, and then combine all the scraps back together and continue until you have used all the dough.
On each football shaped cut out, add a couple pieces of pepperoni, and a little bit of pizza sauce.
Pinch the seams of the two footballs together.
Use a fork around the edges to seal it.
Brush the footballs with the egg wash and cut little slits into the center to look like the football laces.
Bake on a baking sheet covered in parchment paper for 10-12 minutes until the pizza pockets are golden brown.
Serve with some yummy dipping sauces and you are guaranteed to have the best treats at your Superbowl party (or really anytime anyone wants pizza - which is always!)
