Ina Garten, the celebrity chef known to her fans around the world as "The Barefoot Contessa," just marked a major milestone with her husband, Jeffrey.

The couple are celebrating their 50th anniversary this month, and Garten is sharing the joy with fans by posting a few throwback photos on social media.

The cookbook maven has shared a new vintage photo of herself and Jeffrey every day this week, and promises to keep sharing them until their official anniversary on Saturday.

Garten, 70, met her future husband Jeffrey, 71, for the first time while visiting her brother at college, and says she felt an instant connection.

"I met Jeffrey when I was 15, and I have to say, I just knew he was the one," she revealed to Today.

"He's kind, he's smart, he's funny, and he takes very good care of me. It's wonderful."

He even helped kick-start her career in the food industry, encouraging her to give up her day job as a White House policy adviser to feed her passion for cooking.

"He just thought I was really smart and that I could do anything," Garten told People. "He was the first person I knew who thought that about me."

It's a credit to their incredible bond that the pair are still as close as ever after five decades, despite the fact that Jeffrey, a dean at the Yale School of Management, lives in a different city and can only visit his wife on the weekends.

The couple's sweet relationship tends to come up in many of her interviews, but the celebrity chef insists there's no secret to finding Mr. Right.

"It's just the luck of the draw," she told Today.

"I think you marry someone who thinks you're just the most important thing in the world, and you think he's the most important thing in the world. It's that simple, isn't it? People make it so complicated."

But, of course, it doesn't hurt to show someone how you feel with a home cooked meal.

"I think the best way you can express love by cooking for someone is figure out what they like "” not what you like, what they like "” and make it for them," Garten shared.

"And they'll feel really good."

Garten also makes a point to tell her fans that Jeffrey is not "this adorable doofus guy who comes in and goes, 'Oh this is delicious,'" he just plays one on her cooking shows.

The couple are celebrating their diamond anniversary with a trip to Paris, a city they fell in love with while camping around Europe in the "˜70s.
