Lady Gaga Rushed To Hospital For Complications, Cancels World Tour

In Lady Gaga's upcoming intimate documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two, the pop star gives fans a behind-the-scenes look into her life as she prepared to release her new album, perform at the Superbowl, and struggle with a painful medical condition, Fibromyalgia.

The Bad Romance singer sent out a tweet last week revealing that Fibromyalgia is the reason behind the debilitating pain she frequently experiences.

Although fans may not have been able to tell, the disorder has taken a huge toll on Gaga's life in the last few years. Back in 2013, she was forced to cancel the remainder of her "Born This Way Ball" so she could get surgery on her hip after experiencing months of severe pain.

Unfortunately, the symptoms haven't shown any signs of slowing down, and once again the entertainer had to be rushed to the hospital.

Gaga shared a photo of her arms with a drip attached to it on Instagram to let her fans know that she is receiving treatment for her condition. She also expressed her devastation over cancelling her performance at Brazil's Rock in Rio Festival.

"Brazil, I'm devastated that I'm not well enough to come to Rock In Rio," Gaga wrote. "I would do anything 4 u but I have to take care of my body right now. I ask for your grace and understanding, and promise that I will come back and perform for you soon. 💔🤘I'm so sorry, and I love you so much. 🙏"

Today, just 3 days after pulling out of her Rock in Rio show, Lady Gaga announced that she has postponed the upcoming dates on her Joanne World Tour. Her label released a statement on Monday confirming the news.

"Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform," read a statement from her label. "She remains under the care of expert medical professionals who recommended the postponement earlier today."

"Lady Gaga is devastated that she has to wait to perform for her European fans," the statement continued. "She plans to spend the next seven weeks proactively working with her doctors to heal from this and past traumas that still affect her daily life, and result in severe physical pain in her body. She wants to give her fans the best version of the show she built for them when the tour resumes."

"Lady Gaga sends her love to all her fans across Europe and thanks them for their support and understanding," it concluded.

The singer herself shared an update in the wee hours of the morning addressing her disappointment over the rescheduled tour as well as critics who have been calling her "dramatic."

"If you knew me, you would know this couldn't be further from the truth. I'm a fighter," she wrote. "I use the word suffer not only because trauma and chronic pain have changed my life, but because they are keeping me from living a normal life. They are also keeping me from what I love the most in the world: performing for my fans."

Gaga has been speaking out about Fibromyalgia to raise awareness about the condition. She also urged people to share their experiences so a discussion can be created around it.

Gaga: Five Foot Two is set to be released on Netflix on September 22.
