Cinderella isn't the only girl with a Fairy Godmother taking care of her.

Mercedes Edney is an aspiring esthetician and in pursuit of her dream she decided to enrol in a program at a local college. However, she is not eligible for financial aid or scholarships from the school because of the job she currently holds.

As a result, Mercedes started an online fundraiser to raise money for her tuition. She shared her YouCaring campaign on Twitter and by Friday, she had already raised about $300 of her $5,995 goal.

The campaign began to pick up steam on the social media platform and in a surprising turn of events, the rest of the funds were covered by none other than Twitter queen Chrissy Teigen!

"I've seen this be your passion for such a long time now," Teigen wrote in a note that accompanied the donation. "So excited to see you fulfill your dream!"

Mercedes told NBC news that she initially thought Paypal had a glitch when she received the notification for a $5,600 donation. "I was at work, and I heard my PayPal alert go off. I saw the amount and said 'what the hell? what's wrong with PayPal?' I thought it was a glitch," she wrote.

Mercedes expressed her gratitude towards Chrissy in a Tweet and the two had an adorable exchange.

This is not the first time that Chrissy has shown her benevolent side. Back in December, the model gave away a dress she wore on Lip Sync Battle after a fan asked her for it and prior to that she gifted another fan with a new blender after tweeted about buying Chrissy's cookbook instead.

It is nice to see a popular celebrity like Chrissy occasionally help her fans out when they're in need.
