Michael Buble Makes Major Announcement Just One Year After Son's Cancer Diagnosis

In November of 2016, Michael Buble and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, experienced every parent's worst nightmare. Their three-year-old son, Noah, was diagnosed with liver cancer.

We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.

The entire entertainment industry felt for the Canadian crooner, who seemed to be at the height of his career.

Buble and his family took the time they needed to deal with the diagnosis, which meant cancelling many major events. Buble had been scheduled to host the Brit Awards and the Juno Awards in 2017, which many anticipated he would still attend despite the announcement of Noah's diagnosis. However, Buble pulled out of both events to be with his son. There was speculation that perhaps Noah's condition had worsened since Buble wasn't attending the shows, but an announcement made after his withdrawal said otherwise.

We are so grateful to report that our son Noah has been progressing well during his treatment and the doctors are very optimistic about the future for our little boy. He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage. We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words.

We'd like to thank the thousands of people that have sent their prayers and good wishes to us. As we continue this journey we are greatly comforted by your support and love.

With Noah's health on the uptick, so was speculation as to when Buble would return to show business. An insider said it would be sooner rather than later.

"This is a sure-fire sign Michael's big return is happening," he said. "He's not going to play hundreds of gigs, he'll ease himself back into it."

The crooner then announced he would be headlining at the British Summer Time Hyde Park in July 2018. The festival boasts two "fun-filled weekends" with food, music, and other events.

"I can't wait to come over to see my fans in London and play BST Hyde Park for my largest ever UK show!  You guys have been patient and I can't thank you enough for all your support," BublĂ© said. "And for those of you that haven't seen me live, well... I just haven't met you yet!"

But before his international return, Buble returned to his hometown of Vancouver, Canada, to host the 2018 Juno Awards, which are Canada's equivalent to the Grammys. Upon returning to the big stage, Buble also made a surprise announcement.

Buble, who has hosted the Junos once in the past in 2013, opened the evening by addressing his absence from last year's show.

"I wanted to be here last year and I could not make it, and before I continue, I'd be remiss if I did not thank my friends Russell Peters and Bryan Adams for taking over the way you did," said Bublé. "You'll never know what it meant to me. It's been a couple of years since I've been on stage. It means ... it means more than you'll know to be able to come back here in my hometown, in front of my family, in front of my friends, in my city, in my country."

During the show, Buble also commented on how the last time he hosted the Junos, he and his wife were expecting their first child. He followed that up with an exciting announcement.

"Oops, you did it again," he said. "My wife and I are pregnant with our No. 3 ... no, it's not Jim Cuddy's baby I love you so much, mi amor."

Buble and Lopilato were both on the red carpet for the awards, where she showed off her growing bump.

The couple hasn't announced the gender of the new baby yet, however Hello Magazine is reporting that they are expecting a girl. The newest addition will join Noah, 4, and Elias, 2.

We are so happy that not only Noah is doing well, but also that they are welcoming another baby to their brood!
