Having a January birthday has some disadvantages. Not only are people all tuckered out from the Christmas festivities, the freezing temperatures often get in the way.

In all honestly, I've always been jealous of my friends who get to celebrate their special days when the weather is nice and warm in the spring or summer.

However, a recent study has finally managed to convince me that the pros of being born in the beginning of the year outweigh the cons.

According to a new research published in the Journal of Social Sciences, those who are born in January and February are more likely to become successful as opposed to those born in the later months.

The study looked at 100 celebrities from "different walks of life," including politicians, entrepreneurs, humanitarians, singers, actors, athletes, scientists, and authors.

The results indicated that a disproportionate number of successful, rich and famous individuals had birthdays that fell in the first two months of the year.

What's even more interesting is that the researchers found that those born between January 20 and February 18 had an even higher chance of making it big.

In fact, plenty of the world's most famous figures (dead or alive), like Oprah, Ellen DeGeneres, Cristiano Ronaldo, Jennifer Aniston, Bob Marley, Michael Jordan, Abraham Lincoln, Ashton Kutcher, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, happen to be Aquariuses.

If you're still not buying it, there is more research that indicates people born early in the year have an edge over their counterparts.

A study of S&P 500 companies from 1992 to 2009 found that January babies are more likely to grow up to be CEOs. A possible explanation for this could be the kindergarten enrollment cut off dates, which puts children born between September and January at an advantage over their younger, summer-born peers.

If you're not the entrepreneurial type, then you'll be happy to know that the UK Office of National Statistics discovered that people born in January have a higher chance of becoming doctors. They came to this conclusion after analyzing 19 different professions from census data.

Not only does having a January birthday set you up for a potentially wealthy future, you also won't have to worry too much about your health.

According to the experts at the Columbia University Department of Medicine, January babies are considered low risk for many illnesses, including cardiovascular, reproductive, respiratory or neurological diseases.

So if you're born in January, you're lucky all-around, and with just a little bit of determination and hard work, you could one day be a part of the one percent.
