Jimmy Buffett Opened Margaritaville Retirement Homes And They're Gorgeous

Picture being retired in your head, what does it look like?

If it involves nibbling on sponge cake and watching the sun bake in a chill vibes-type of tropical community, then Latitude Margaritaville is made for you.

Jimmy Buffett recently partnered up with Minto Communities to create a group of homes for people aged "55 or better" that are looking to live their best life in Florida.

"It's always been that happy place in your mind, the spirit of adventure in your soul. It's the state of mind when it all comes together in one of life's perfect moments. When your mind wanders to this paradise, why not follow it home?" reads the description on the website.

The first of the communities, located in Daytona Beach, has already opened this summer, but more locations in Hilton Head, South Carolina and Watersound, Florida are expected to be ready for occupancy very soon.

Inspired by the "Margaritaville" singer's lifestyle, these retirement communities feature beachfront access, pools, spas, and "exciting recreation," including live entertainment, and "FINtastic nightlife."

Residents are promised that the community will "be a very fun place for them to "grow older, but not up."

Of course, owning a piece of paradise doesn't come cheap. The 7,000 homes will cost a total of one billion dollars, with individual furnished and unfurnished two and three-bedroom models selling from the "very low $200,000s to $350,000."

However, money doesn't seem to be an issue for some Parrotheads because Minto vice president Bill Bullock revealed that in just the first two weeks of offers, they had over 10,000 registrants.
