<div><p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of singer and actor, Cuba Gooding Sr. </p><p>The "Everybody Plays the Fool" singer and father of actor Cuba Gooding Jr, was found dead in a car on Thursday in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles. </p><p>He was 72-years-old. </p><p>According to various <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2017/04/20/cuba-gooding-sr-dead-the-main-ingredient/">media outlets</a>, firefighters responded to a call at 12:58pm PT and found his body slumped over in his silver Jaguar. Unfortunately, efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. </p><div><figure><amp-img src="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/cuba-e986a1a1-1034-44f2-a115-552fc6305ac2.jpg" srcset="https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/cuba-e986a1a1-1034-44f2-a115-552fc6305ac2_GH_content_550px.jpg 550w, https://www.shared.com/content/images/2017/04/cuba-e986a1a1-1034-44f2-a115-552fc6305ac2_GH_content_650px.jpg 650w" sizes="89vw" title="" alt="" height="9" width="16" layout="responsive"></amp-img></figure></div><p>It is also reported that authorities found empty alcohol containers and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. </p><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p>His cause of death is currently under investigation but it is suspected that it may have been an overdose. </p><p>The Harlem-born musician rose to fame in the early 1970s when he became the lead singer of R&B band The Main Ingredient. The group went on to release a plethora of hits including <em>Everybody Plays The Fool, Happiness Is Just Around the Bend and Just Don't Want to Be Lonely. </em></p><div><div><div><amp-youtube height="9" width="16" layout="responsive" data-videoid="5gdqj0V231E"></amp-youtube></div></div></div><p><!-- [invalid-shortcode] --></p><p>The band eventually broke up in the '80s but Gooding Sr. took on other music-related projects and remained in California with his family.
