It's been 23 years since the tragic death of Nicole Brown Simpson, but her memory is still kept alive to this day.

She was known as being the ex-wife of former NFL player O.J. Simpson who infamously went on trial for her and her friend Ronald Goldman's murders.

Robert Kardashian Sr. had been close with Simpson for years and when tragedy struck, he became one of the former athlete's defense attorneys during the trial.

Brown Simpson on the other hand had been Kris Jenner's best friend and was heartbroken that her ex-husband chose to defend him. Seventeen months after the death of her beloved friend, Jenner gave birth to Kendall Jenner, and chose "Nicole" as her middle name.

Although Simpson was ultimately acquitted, it was an understandably devastating time for the former couple's children, Sydney and Justin.

Faced with the possibility of losing both their parents, it was exceptionally difficult to give the children any sense of normalcy, but according to the Kardashians' former nanny, Rob and Khloé Kardashian helped do just that.

Pam Behan had looked after the children for five years, and said that the youngest Kardashians were exceptionally close friends with Sydney and Justin.

"The kids used to call him "˜Uncle OJ'... So now they were hearing that he may have killed Nicole. This was really shocking to them," Beham said in the latest episode of Scandal Made Me Famous.

"Justin and Sidney were very close with Khloé and Robert so shortly after all this happened, myself, Khloé, and Robert went down to the Brown family's house and stayed with them for a few days... It was just to give the kids a sense of more normalcy to play together again," she continued. "That's something that I'll never forget."

Although Simpson was found not guilty of the murders, he was found liable for Goldman's death in a civil trial in 1997, and forced to pay $33.5 million in damages.

In 2007, Simpson was charged with multiple felony accounts after stealing sports memorabilia at gunpoint at the Palace Station hotel-casino, which he claimed was originally stolen from him.

The following year Simpson was found guilty and sentenced to 33 years in prison. However, the former Buffalo Bills player was granted in October 2017, after serving nine years of his sentence.
