Your Kids Will Go Crazy For This Cookie Monster Pumpkin

Are you looking for a fun and easy painted pumpkin idea for Halloween this year? If your kids (or you!) love Cookie Monster, then you need to give this This Cookie Monster pumpkin a try!

This pumpkin is definitely more-cute-than-creepy, which is totally fine by me! Not everything for Halloween has be blood and guts and scary. This pumpkin is the perfect decoration for your house plus it doubles as a way to serve cookies, not to mention your kids will love it!

If you're worried that you have to be super artistic to pull this off - trust me you don't! Just hollow out your pumpkin, cut a mouth, paint the pumpkin blue and add the Styrofoam eyes. Every pumpkin will look a little different, and that's totally fine.

If you don't have time to hollow out and carve your pumpkin you can always just paint it instead.

Materials

  • Blue paint
  • Black paint
  • Pumpkin
  • Tools for carving your pumpkin
  • Styrofoam balls
  • Hot glue
  • Cookies (optional)

Directions

  1. Cut a lid in the top of your pumpkin and remove all the insides.
  2. Draw a mouth on your pumpkin and cut out with a sharp knife.
  3. Paint the entire outside of your pumpkin with blue paint and let dry.
  4. Take your two styrofoam balls and paint two black circles on each. These will be the pupils for Cookie Monster's eyes.
  5. Glue the eyes to your pumpkin and let dry.
  6. Display with cookies if desired!
