Hugh Jackman has been named The "Sexiest Man Alive," he's been a superhero, the star of a musical, and an all around great guy.

It seems like Jackman's whole career has been one that people could envy, but the aspect of his life he is most proud of is his relationship with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness.

The pair have been married for 22 years, and as we all know, in Hollywood that is almost unheard of.

Furness and Jackman first met on the set of the set of Correlli in 1995. Furness was an experienced actress at that point, but Jackman was 13 years her junior and fresh out of drama school.

He was star struck meeting the actress, and even tried to avoid her as much as possible so he wouldn't embarrass himself.

"Of course she's very beautiful but I liked her. Then I saw another actor "˜pretend' to bump into her, and I was jealous. I suddenly realized I had a massive crush on her. I was mortified," Jackson revealed.

When she finally got him to speak to her, he admitted his feelings. "I just said, 'I'm really sorry I haven't spoken to you. I've got a crush on you, but I'm sure I'll get over it'."

But she had other plans in mind, admitting that she was always attracted to him, and ever since then they have been together.

"I knew two weeks in to meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives," Jackman told Today.

So how do they stay so happy and in love after over 20 years and a lot of public attention?

"In the end, what do you want from your life partner? You want to be fully seen and you want to be able to fully see them for exactly who (they) really are. And Deb and I had that from the beginning," Jackman said.

He continued to reveal the true secret to their happy union: Comfort.

"Literally from day one, Deb and I had that feeling. It was like a relief. I could just be myself. I am not saying we don't ever dress up or impress each other, but being comfortable is a key."

Together the couple has conquered the world, and they are always sure that family comes first. "When Deb and I got married, we made a pact that we would look at each other at every turning point in our lives and ask ourselves if this is good or bad for our family," Jackman said.

Even if it means turning down a role, Jackman explained that all decisions have to be in the families best interest.

The couple have two children together, adopted after experiencing fertility issues, and now they have started campaigning to change adoption process in Australia.

He even teared up while receiving an honor as he praise his wife for all she's done for him.

"Life actually happens in between that. Life happens when the camera is not going," Jackman said. "You believed in me when I couldn't. You've loved me with a passion and a depth that I didn't even know existed "” and I don't think I felt that I deserved. You have pushed and encouraged me when I was scared to venture out. You have smiled me into smiling. You have sung me into singing. You have loved me into loving and like everything I do in my life, I share this with you. I love you."

Together they've made an amazing life for themselves, and it's nice to see that despite all the craziness that comes from having such a public relationship these two have managed to make it work.
