What kind of pledge did you make in pre-school? I told my parents I was going to be a baby when i grew up (which, honestly, is a little bit true.) Some people claim they'll rule the world, be rock stars, or live on the moon.
For Mathew Grodsky, he had just one simple pledge.
"One of my very first memories is of being 3 years old and standing up in front of my preschool class, declaring that I would marry [Laura] someday," Grodsky said. "I was enamored with Laura as a child, and I still am."
"I decided to stay true to my preschool pledge."
Laura was adopted from India and became instant friends with Matt.
"We went on playdates to each other's houses and movies with our parents," the couple says. "We have very fond memories of each other."
The friends then parted ways after kindergarten, and it wasn't until 8 years later that they reconnected in the most unusual way!
Fate has some strange plans for us sometimes!
"We were freshmen at different high schools in 2008," Laura says. She was at a friend's house and was randomly scrolling through names in her phone, when she came across a name she recognized...Matt's.
"That's how we reconnected and we hit it off right after that," Laura says. Within two weeks, the couple was dating and continued to do so throughout high school and college.
Matt proposed to Laura where they first met, the lawn of their preschool.
"I walked Laura over to the grass and dropped down on one knee," Matt says. "Laura was shocked. I gave her my pitch on why I wanted her to marry me and she said yes — whew!"
The couple wed on December 20, 2016 in Arizona and the pictures are too cute.
"My favorite thing about Matt is his humor, he always makes me happy and he is the most driven person I know," says Laura. "He is always moving forward."
Adds Matt: "My favorite thing about Laura is her infectious smile and her desire to help those who are less fortunate. She is a force for good and it's inspiring to be around her every day."
