Dog Chapman Asks Fans To Pray For His Wife Beth During Cancer Battle

Earlier this week, we shared the sad news that Beth Chapman, the feisty star of the reality show Dog the Bounty Hunter, underwent emergency surgery at a Los Angeles hospital.

After being rushed into the operating room Tuesday morning, Beth's family later confirmed that her cancer had returned.

Beth, 51, underwent treatment for throat cancer in 2017, including a 13-hour surgery to remove a tumor in her neck.

After almost a year of being cancer- free, Beth's lawyer, Andrew Brettler, confirmed that her cancer has returned, and that Beth's emergency surgery was to remove a cancerous mass in her neck.

Now, Beth's family is speaking out about her condition, and asking fans to keep her in their thoughts as she fights through the bad news.

On Wednesday, Beth's husband Dog (Duane) Chapman, 65, spoke honestly to TMZ about Beth's condition.

"She is not doing good," he told a cameraman. "I appreciate the question and please say a prayer."

Beth's daughter, Lyssa (known to fans of Dog the Bounty Hunter as "Baby Lyssa"), spoke up when her father became too choked up to continue.

Baby Lyssa asked fans to keep up the prayers for her mother.

"We are all so devastated. We love our mommy so much and thank you guys for being here," she said. "We got such an amazing outpouring from fans and we just really appreciate it."

Dog also spoke candidly with Us about Beth's surgery, and her prognosis so far.

"She had a lump in her throat twice the size of last time, and they performed an emergency surgery [on Tuesday]," he revealed. "They cut a hole in her throat so she can breathe; she can still talk. ... [She's] doing the best she can and remains incredibly strong."

Dog later shared the update that doctors had removed "most of the throat cancer," and that Beth's airway was clear. Her treatment will continue, as doctors worry the disease may have spread through her body.

"They are doing a biopsy scan to check if it has spread," Dog said. "Last time it didn't spread at all, so we're hoping the same thing."

While Dog is obviously worried for Beth, the couple - who were famously lovey-dovey, even while chasing fugitives - are as close as ever.

"First thing when she woke up from the surgery [on Tuesday], she said, 'Where's the Dog?'" he shared. "And the nurse was confused, she said, 'Did she bring her dog with her?' And I said, 'Yes ma'am.'"

"I'm here every moment I can be for her," Dog said. "I've never had to go through anything like this in my entire life. I love my honey so much. I don't know what I'm gonna do."

As Dog said, all Beth's fans can do for now is say a prayer and hope for the best.
