A woman identified only as Casey shared a heartbreaking story of cheating and revenge on her wedding day, and it's like something straight out of a Hollywood movie.
She shared her painful tale with Whimn.com.au, revealing that instead of her wedding vows, she wound up reading proof of her husband's affair at the altar.
"This was supposed to be the happiest day of my life, instead, I knew it was the end of my dream relationship and everyone was going to witness it," she remembered.
Casey says that her fiance, called "Alex" in the story, had been in a relationship with her for six years.
"I felt he was The One instantly," Casey wrote. "Our families became friends, our lives were entwined, and I believed we'd live happily ever after."
But the night before her wedding, Casey says she was emailed a series of screenshots from a phone number she didn't recognize.
"I wouldn't marry him. Will you?" the message attached read.
Casey says that the screenshots featured a racy text message conversation between Alex and another woman, including damning photographs of them together.
"The texts were dated from months to only days before," Casey said. "There was no questioning the legitimacy of these messages. I just knew."
The heartbroken bride said canceling the ceremony was out of the question, in spite of Alex's infidelity.
"How could I cancel when everyone had already traveled to be there and everything was paid for?"
So instead, Casey says she took her revenge.
The next day, she acted as if nothing was out of the ordinary, and kept her cool as she walked down the aisle. But then, she told her family the truth.
"There will be no wedding today," she told the crowd. "It seems Alex is not who I thought he was."
Casey claims that Alex "tried to grab my hands but I put down my flowers to reveal my phone in my hand. I read every single message she sent me. With each word, more color left Alex's face."
"I let my weeping eyes rise and meet his, and he had not one thing to say. He stalked out of the church with his best man trailing behind him. His family looked on, horrified."
While Casey admitted the scene was "horrible," she thanked her friends and family for attending the ceremony.
"There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts."
As painful as the day was, Casey said she had "one hell of a party" that night. And some do say that the best revenge is living well.
