Your wedding day is supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life, but trying to make sure that every aspect of it is perfect can be extremely stressful for those involved, especially the bride.

After putting in so much money, time and effort, the last thing any bride or groom would want is for something to go wrong on their big day. Just one little faux pas could turn a happy day into a nightmare.

Recently, a bride was allegedly left "in tears" after she was robbed of her special cake cutting moment.

A guest who attended the wedding took to a Mumsnet forum to share the story of how "hungry" guests started indulging in the couple's non-traditional wedding cake before they had a chance to cut it.

The confusion surrounding the cake stemmed from the fact that the couple opted to serve a triple tier "cake" made out of an assortment of cheeses and crackers. So the guests presumably snacked on the creation, thinking it was a large cheeseboard.

"Cake in question was a three tiered cake made of different cheeses. Surrounded by grapes and crackers/biscuits. No little bride and groom on top," wrote the guest, who is only identified by her username, Inigoan.

They added that "an absolute war broke out" over the cake fiasco, with "half the people" saying they didn't realize it was the cake, and the "other half saying it was pretty obvious."

"Cake was in a separate room to the bar and dance floor," they continued. "Bride in tears (or tiers boom boom). Around three or four people had taken some of the cake by the time they realised!"

Unlike the typical thread, where people usually take sides, many took the opportunity to make cheese-related puns instead.

"She could have been more Mature about it," wrote one user. Another quipped, "That's un-brie-lievable!"

"I bet it was a man. How dairy!" one person joked. "I bet the guest feta right fool," added another.

"Some people just don't give Edam do they?" wrote one commenter, while another replied , "I bet the cheese thieves don't raclette it though."

The guest didn't reveal further details about how the rest of the evening unfolded, like whether or not the bride recovered from the meltdown and a had a grate rest of the night or if the culprits were ever identified.

Do you think the guests were in the wrong?
