The singer was preparing for an upcoming benefit concert in Nashville for the victims of the shooting and the hurricanes in Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean when things took a turn for the worse.

The Tennessean reported that she suffered an accident in her home.

The "Before He Cheats" singer "took a hard fall on some steps outside her home" on Friday night. She was immediately transported to the hospital, and while she didn't sustain any life-threatening injuries, she was treated for multiple serious injuries.

A statement from Underwood's rep revealed that the singer sustained "multiple injuries including a broken wrist and some cuts and abrasions from the fall."

The singer's rep also confirmed that Underwood's husband, retired NHL player Mike Fisher, traveled to Nashville to be by her side following her hospitalization.

She was released from the hospital later that night, and she is back at home recuperating.

"Her recovery will take some time and she appreciates all prayers and well wishes," the statement concluded.

A few days after news of her accident broke, Underwood took to Twitter to reassure fans that she is doing "alright" and thank them for their well wishes.

"I'll be alright...might just take some time...glad I've got the best hubby in the world to take care of me," wrote Underwood on Sunday.

As expected after such a serious mishap, Underwood will no longer be performing at the benefit concert. However, she will very likely recover in time for her two Opry at the Ryamn shows on December 9th.

We're wishing her a speedy recovery!
