Celine Dion Finally Hits Back At Body Shamers Who Say She's Too Skinny

Just because they are public figures doesn't mean that we're entitled to have a say in the way celebrities choose to live when the cameras are not rolling.

However, as much as our favorite stars would like the public to focus on their talents only, some people can't help but comment on their lifestyles and appearances, especially if they don't agree with them.

Recently, it's the iconic Celine Dion that's found herself at the center of online criticism about her weight and style.

The "My Heart Will Go On" singer has been the target of body shamers, who think that she has gotten too skinny and isn't dressing age-appropriately.

They also expressed concern about her health after photos of her at Haute Couture Fashion Week in Paris, France looking more svelte than usual surfaced.

Dion ignored the the comments for some time, but she finally addressed the "skinny-shaming" in a new interview with The Sun.

The Canadian-born singer told the outlet that the hoopla over her smaller frame doesn't keep her up at night and she will continue to wear clothes that make her "feel attractive."

"If I like it, I don't want to talk about it. Don't bother. Don't take a picture," she said. "If you like it, I'll be there. If you don't, leave me alone."

Dion, whose style changed since her husband's death in 2016, explained that what she's doing is for herself and not to please anyone else.

"The way that we used to work before was more conservative," she said. "I'm doing this for me. I want to feel strong, beautiful, feminine and sexy."

She added, "I just want to be the best of me and be surrounded"” like my husband always surrounded me with"”the best people."

Dion also took the opportunity to put to rest the speculation about her dating life. The 50-year-old was rumored to have been dating her 34-year-old trainer, Pepe Muñoz.

The "Power of Love" singer clarified that she and Muñoz are not in a relationship, but they're "best friends."

"Of course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that," Dion explained. "I mean, he's a gentleman. He's giving me his hand to go out."

At the end of the day, Dion admitted that the gossip about the new man in her life doesn't bother her at all because not only is he her best friend, "he's handsome" too.

Again, Dion reminded people to please leave her alone when she says she's single and frankly, we're on her side. Just like asking when a person plans to get married or have a baby, repeatedly asking if someone is single or not is annoying.

For those who are concerned about her health, Dion says she's never been better. She's now enjoying her Las Vegas residency after a slew of vocal chord complications, spending time with her children, traveling, and finding herself after losing the love of her life.

"It's all new. It's like I'm having a second wind "” 50 has been great for me," the singer said.

Hopefully Dion's response will make people think twice before they talk about her body.
