Nearly two years after his split from ex-wife, actress Anna Faris, Chris Pratt is ready for marriage again.
The Jurassic World actor took to social media in the wee hours of January 14 to reveal that he and girlfriend Katherine Schwarzenegger, 29, are engaged.
Along with a touching message, Pratt shared a photo of himself hugging his new fiancee as she stares at the large diamond ring.
"Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I'm thrilled to be marrying you," Pratt wrote on social media. "Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go!"
Pratt and Schwarzenegger's exciting news comes just a little over six months after they were first spotted out together on Father's Day. The pair reportedly met through Schwarzenegger's mother Maria Shriver, and in just a matter of weeks, they fell for each other.
"Chris and Katherine are very happy together," a source close to the couple told People. "They're very compatible and have a lot in common."
Schwarzenegger, whose father is the iconic actor and former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, has also become very close with Pratt's six-year-old son, Jack. Over the last few months, the trio have been seen on several outings in the Los Angeles area.
Although they have been spotted in public together, they have never confirmed that they are dating. However, an Instagram post by Pratt in which he wished Schwarzenegger a happy birthday was enough to convince fans that their relationship has blossomed into something very serious.
"Happy Birthday Chief! Your smile lights up the room. I've cherished our time together. Thrilled God put you in my life. Thankful for the laughs, kisses, talks, hikes, love and care," he wrote in December.
While Pratt and Schwarzenegger have been together since earlier last year, the 39-year-old actor only finalized his divorce from Faris in November. The couple were married for nine years and share a son.
The friendly exes decided to waive their rights to spousal support. However, their divorce agreement stipulates that they will continue to live within a five-mile radius of each other so they can co-parent their son.
