On November 15, TMZ broke the news that actress and model Kim Porter was found dead in her Los Angeles area home. She was 47 years old.

Law enforcement officials told the celebrity news website that Porter went to bed early the night before because she wasn't feeling well, but when her family went to wake her up the next day, she was not responsive.

Although the exact cause of her death still remains a mystery, a source close to Porter revealed that she had a cardiac arrest after several weeks of suffering from flu-like symptoms and possible pneumonia.

She reportedly called her doctor's office the day before to inform them that she wasn't getting any better.

Porters death came a shock to the public, but it has left a lasting mark on the hearts of her friends and family, including Sean "Diddy" Combs, whom she dated for 13 years.

The beloved mother of four was famously in an on-again, off-again relationship with the rapper and music executive from 1994 until they broke up for the last time in 2007.

After a few days of silence, Diddy finally took to Instagram to address the passing of his former girlfriend.

In the first of several emotional posts paying tribute to Porter, Diddy posted a video of the two of them during a maternity shoot, and wrote in the caption that he's "been trying to wake up out of this nightmare."

"For the last three days I've been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven't. I don't know what I'm going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I'm going to pay tribute to you, I'm going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER S**T!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love"

The ex-lovers had three kids together, Christian, 20, and 11-year-old twin girls Jessie James and D'Lila. Porter's first son Quincy Brown, whom she had while in a relationship with singer Al B. Sure!, was adopted by Diddy.

In another post, Diddy vowed to Porter that that he will "raise our family just like you taught me to."

Although the couple called it quits years ago, they have been very amicable co-parents. The blended family attended last month's premiere of Brown's new Christmas movie The Holiday Calendar, making it the last time that they were together in public.

Brown also opened up about his mother's death on Instagram, revealing that he is "broken."

"I am broken...[and] the only thing that makes sense right now is that you were way too good for this silly world we live in," Brown wrote in a caption of a photo of himself with his mother and sisters. "I love you so much MOMMY. Please give Mee-Maw the biggest hug and kiss for me."

Justin Combs, Diddy's son with his former flame Misa Hylton Brim, also shared his disbelief over losing his "second mother."

"This can't be real I keep waking up hoping this is all a bad dream. I just don't understand. The other day we were all together dancing & celebrating," he wrote on Instagram. "Thank you for loving & accepting me as one of your own I will forever cherish all the special moments and talks we had together please stay close with us and let us hear your voice to guide us."

Several other prominent Hollywood figures have paid their tribute to the beloved Porter, who seemed to have touched and changed many lives during her short time here.

No funeral arrangements have been revealed yet, but according to Porter's close friend and fashion designer Kimora Lee Simmons, a "homegoing celebration" was held in Porter's honor on Monday.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Porter's family during this extremely difficult time.
