It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt.

Anna Tew from Mobile County, Alabama was enjoying the spirit of Halloween until her costume landed her in the emergency room.

The medical nightmare began not too long after putting on her new zombie costume, including $3 worth of fake fangs.

Tew said she used the temporary glue that came with the fake teeth to attach onto her real ones, but when she tried to remove them hours later, they wouldn't come off.

The Real Scare

By the middle of the night, and after many unsuccessful attempts at trying to get the fake teeth out of her mouth, Tew sought out help from an emergency dentist.

"I even took a pair of wire clippers and cut the tips of those two off," she told WKRG.

She later learned that the adhesive wasn't temporary, which was likely the reason why she was in excruciating pain.

"He talked about drilling. They had a saw, talked about taking them off in sections, and they couldn't numb it because they were scared they would actually pull my teeth out," she recalled.

According to the dentist, "the natural state of your teeth, and your gums can sometimes cause something to adhered and get stuck."

Although expenses were piling up, Tew is glad that the fake teeth didn't cause any more damage.

"So he went in and picked and pulled and I squealed like a baby and they got them out."

Tew said she learned her lesson, and hopes that by sharing her story, no other person has to experience what she went through.

"I will never do it again," she told the news outlet. "I will never put anything like that back in my mouth."
