Wall Street's famous Charging Bull sculpture has just gotten a big makeover in time for International Women's Day and it makes quite the impact.
The Charging Bull now has a little friend and it is actually really powerful. Standing directly in front of the angry-looking bull is a little girl, standing tall and proud. The plaque in front of the Fearless Girl that reads "know the power of women in leadership".
She has been dubbed the "Fearless Girl" and it's easy to see why. State Street Global Advisors used this empowering piece as a part of their campaign to get more women in positions of power at companies, specifically as board members.
When Lori Heinel, deputy global chief investment officer for State Street spoke to Business Insider she said that "the idea of having a female sort of stand against the bull or stand up to the bull just struck us as a very clever but also creative and engaging way to make that statement. Even though it's a little girl, her stance is one of determination, forwardness, and being willing to challenge and take on the status quo."
It's quite the powerful visual to see, and hopefully people will think about the message a little bit when they see it!
