With spring on its way, jogging season is imminent! Gatorade is one of those staple drinks for anyone exerting energy, but it's packed with too much sugar and sodium!

This Homemade Lemon Ginger Gatorade is chock full of electrolytes and fresh ingredients like real lemon and lime juices, honey and coconut water. Give it a try - you'll feel amazing chugging this after a hard workout!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (4") piece ginger, peeled
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 2 3/4 cups coconut water

Directions:

Finely grate ginger and using a flexible spatula, press solids into a fine-mesh sieve over a small bowl and discard pulp. You should have about 1 teaspoon ginger juice.

Combine ginger juice, lemon juice, lime juice, honey and salt in a large measuring cup or bowl. Stir in coconut water.

Lemon-ginger mixture can be made 1 day ahead. Cover and chill. Stir vigorously before adding coconut water.
