Like many celebrity parents, actress Gwyneth Paltrow can be camera-shy about her children.
Not that we blame her, of course! Whenever celebrity moms share a pictures of their children, online nitpickers come out of the woodwork to nag and shame them.
But when the photos stop showing up on social media, kinder, more polite fans end up wondering what those famous kids are up to.
And sometimes, when a rare update finally arrives, it can be quite a shock.
Paltrow's latest photo of her lookalike daughter, Apple, convinced some fans the 14-year-old is taller than her mom, but that's probably just a trick of the perspective.
In the photo, Paltrow smiles while embracing her daughter and their friend Deven Dees, while Apple gives her mom's cheek a smooch.
"I can't believe how tall Apple is already!" one fan commented.
Our last good look at Paltrow's children came from a distant photo of them standing in her backyard last summer. Both Apple and Moses, 13, are from Paltrow's first marriage to Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin.
Although the couple separated in 2014, they still make time to be with their children together, like when they saw Waitress on Broadway as a family last year.
We got a better glimpse of Apple on National Daughter Day last September, as Paltrow's fans flipped out over how identical the star's daughter looks to her celebrity mom.
"I conjured you from a dream, you make my life," Paltrow wrote in her sweet caption for the picture.
These days, Paltrow splits parenting duties with her new husband, TV producer Brad Falchuk. Since they tied the knot in September (with Apple as her mom's Maid of Honor), Paltrow has shared plenty of lovey-dovey posts about her new beau on social media.
Paltrow has also welcomed Falchuk's own teenage daughter, Isabella, into her family.
