7 Creative Ways to Use Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is derived from the Australian Melaleuca alternifolia tree. It has been commonly used as a natural muscle pain remedy by the Aboriginals, as well as a strong antibacterial agent, and cure for various health issues.

This beneficial oil has powerful antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiseptic qualities, and is nowadays added to numerous cosmetic and household products, including skin creams, nail creams, massage oils, face wash, laundry detergents, and shampoos.

Here are seven ways to use tea tree oil:

1. Disinfect the Dishes

Add a few drops of tea tree oil to the soap dispenser in the dishwasher, before adding the soap, and you will clean and disinfect the dishes.

2. Destroy Germs on Clothes

To disinfect the clothes, add 6 to 8 drops to the laundry, and they will get a fresh and pleasant scent.

3. Deal with Mold

4. All-Purpose Cleaner

5. Boost Hair health

Tea tree oil effectively treats dandruff, hydrates the skin on the scalp, eliminates lice, and makes the hair shiny and healthy. Mix a few drops with some coconut milk, Aloe Vera gel, and lavender oil, and make your homemade, natural shampoo.

6. Repel Ants

Store-bought repellents are full of chemicals, so use this oil as a natural way to get rid of ants and other insects in the home. Mix it with some water and wipe the cupboards to eliminate cockroaches.

7. Disinfectant

Add this oil to a warm mist vaporizer to cleanse the air in the case of an illness.

This oil is generally safe to use, as it causes no side-effects. However, avoid direct contact with sensitive skin areas, the inner part of the nose, and the eyes.

It would be best to do a small skin patch test on the arm or leg before you start using it. Unless it causes any negative reaction, you can freely use it on a daily basis, and reap its numerous benefits.
