When you go to a restaurant, you usually give the server your credit card, they ring up the bill and bring you back the receipt. At that point, you put in the amount you want to give as a tip. Normally, you don’t see the final receipt (after the tip is rung up) at the restaurant. You assume the server will input the amount you stipulated.
