Infuse Your Meals With Flavor Using Homemade Vegetable Stock

Making stock can be super simple and will taste way better than than the store bought. You can use it for soups, casseroles, pilafs and other dishes to infuse flavor into all your favorite dishes.

You might think that making stock from scratch is a big hassle, but it is super easy. I never would have thought that it would be as simple as it is to have such delicious and fresh stock!

It's extra easy to make if you use this Zwillings Vegetable Cocotte as it will fit all your ingredients and help them cook evenly.

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 onions
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 3-4 celery stalks4-5 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 small bunch parsley
  • 1 teaspoon whole peppercorns
  • Optional extras: Leeks, Fennel, Tomatoes, mushrooms, parsnips

Directions:

Chop all your veggies into large chunks so they will fit better into the pot.

Add all your veggies into your cocotte.

Add the bay leaf on top.

Along with the peppercorns, parsley and thyme.

Add enough water so that you can stir the veggies.

Bring to a boil. Once it has boiled, lower heat and let cook for one hour.

Strain through cheesecloth to get the liquid out.

Use your stock for soups and other dishes to infuse delicious flavors into every meal!
