Mom's Heartbreaking Post About Her Bullied Daughter Is Too Relatable

Bullying is too common with today's youth. With the invention of social media and the constant connection, kids all over the world are being bullied with the click of a button, and it needs to stop.

However, "old-fashioned" bullying still exists, and it's time we start doing something about it. I remember when I was in elementary school, which was about 20 years ago, I was bullied because I had red hair. Then, when we moved schools, I was excluded because I was the new kid. Being a chubby kid didn't help anything either.

The bullying continued through high school, and though it wasn't physical, it still cut like a knife. No child should have to be subjected to comments or taunting based on the way they look, act, or anything else for that matter.

That's why when Instagram user, mytribeofsix, posted about her daughter's bullying experience, everyone's heart collectively broke.

Stevie Niki, who owns the mytribeofsix account, posted about how bullying not only impacts her child, but also herself.

I want to pretend like today was a good day, i want to say something positive and inspiring.. but i cant, not today. I sat with my daughter after school and we both cried. My heart aches for all her pain and sadness. Most people dont see what i see, they see a loud kid, a silly kid, a happy kid, a kid that wont sit still and a sometimes defiant kid. A child with a mind that wanders, a spirit that roams free and a heart that has a wild spark. Some may even see a "naughty" kid. The truth is, all she is, is a kid (my kid) just as special as yours or anyone elses. And the kid i see at home is a kid that hurts, shes changed alot in the last few months and challenged me even more. her spark has dulled and glow has gotten darker. We have high highs and low lows. I asked her today where she has gone? And we cried. I want my happy girl back, the one who lights up the room and radiates vibes i wish i could create. My nice girl who loves her mama and her siblings, my kind girl. Today she broke down because of the relentless bullying she experienced the last 6 months after we moved and changed schools. Questioned me as to why she doesnt have friends and that shes not good enough. Today she had a good day at school, she played with a kid and had fun. But this is what its like, it doesnt matter if its a good day when the pains still there and the wounds are still raw. The damage has been done and its not yet repaired - will it ever? I hope so. Maybe we should have never sold the home we brought them home from the hospital to and changed their schools from their first. Maybe we shouldn't have relocated. She doesnt fit into a box and i dont want her to either... Raising kids was never going to be easy, but it shouldnt be this kind of hard. I dont know what to do. I dont know what the answer is. It's day one back and it was a good but im already questioning the schooling system and her place in it. This year i will not allow the system or any one else's child to defeat her like they did last year. So talk to your kids, teach them kindness and inclusiveness - because no mum and no child should have to sit through this and feel what we feel.

"Today she broke down because of the relentless bullying she experienced the last 6 months after we moved and changed schools. Questioned me as to why she doesn't have friends and that she's not good enough."

That's the line that touched everyone's heart. No child should ever feel like they are not good enough.

"I don't know what to do. I don't know what the answer is. It's day one back and it was a good but I'm already questioning the schooling system and her place in it."

She concluded with a powerful message to all parents.

"So talk to your kids, teach them kindness and inclusiveness - because no mum and no child should have to sit through this and feel what we feel."

Parents everywhere felt a connection to Niki and her struggles, and posted messages of encouragement.

"This resonates so well with me," one user wrote. "My daughter is going into yr 8 tomorrow and has always struggled with bullies at school. She is articulate and beautiful and no one understands why she is treated that way. I am sure it's plain old jealousy. One Mum even told me she has told her daughter not to stick up for mine in case the bullies turn in her! What hope does she have? Unless this term sees a drastic turn around we have decided to home school her. Just so she doesn't break down."

"Thank you for sharing!" another wrote. "My daughter was bullied but she kept it to herself until much damage was done. It's so good to be open and most of all demonstrate love in all we do. Love and kindness goes far."

"Too much for a heart to bare 😢 I know your pain," shared another user. "Sending big hugs for you both"

Bullying affects far too many kids, and it's time for schools to start doing something to stop it.
