Ever since her dramatic divorce from Tom Cruise in 2012, Dawson's Creek star Katie Holmes has been romantically linked to one of Cruise's former co-stars, Collateral star Jamie Foxx.
But the couple seemed determined to keep their relationship hush-hush (they weren't spotted holding hands until 2017) despite being photographed together skiing, yachting, and enjoying date nights through the years.
One rumored reason for the secrecy was a 'dating ban' included in Cruise and Holmes' divorce agreement.
After years of speculation the rumors may have finally been settled, but not in the way fans hoped.
At an Oscars after party this week, Foxx boldly declared, "I'm single."
Foxx, 51, was at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's exclusive Hollywood party Sunday night, and was reportedly seen cozying up with actress Jessica Szohr, 33, who is starring in Foxx's upcoming movie All-Star Weekend.
The actor's surprising announcement came as Foxx performed at a charity gala earlier in the night, according to The Daily Mail.
While there's a real possibility Jamie was only joking with the crowd - his confession came during an onstage monologue about relationships - it could be a public admission that his relationship with Holmes, 40, is over.
The pair seemed closer than ever just a short time ago, as they were photographed in a rare PDA kissing on a yacht around New Year's Eve.
But because Foxx has never publicly admitted to his relationship with Holmes (instead calling stories about them "hilarious" and "fake news") the truth may not come out until Holmes addresses the possible breakup herself.
Both Holmes and Foxx have daughters from their previous relationships. Holmes is raising 12-year-old Suri (apparently with little help from Cruise), while Foxx has a 25-year-old daughter Corinne and 9-year-old Annalise.
