Ever since Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos starred as Hayley Vaughan and Mateo Santos on All My Children, it was proven that their on-screen chemistry was just as authentic as it is in real life.

The couple tied the knot in 1996 and have three children together, Michael, 21, Lola, 17, and Joaquin, 15.

Although all marriages have their ups and downs, Ripa and Consuelos' have been rock solid for all these years.

However, since the celebrity pair live in the spotlight, they're prime targets of criticism from the public.

Unfortunately, Ripa seems to always face the brunt of the insults, and was most recently told by a fan of her husband that she was "too old" for him.

Social Media user mariaxdiaz replied to Ripa's comment on Consuelos' Instagram picture and wrote a disrespectful remark.

"Yes he is so handsome but you need to go Kelly you look to [sic] old for him sorry but you do."

While the message was cruel, the daytime talk show host - who's only a year older than Consuelos - had her own cutting response ready to go.

"You need to learn how to spell the word too sweetie. As in you're too stupid to be with my young, handsome husband. Ps, he likes proper grammar as well you dope."

Back in March, Consuelos posted a picture his wife adorning a gold bikini on Instagram, calling her the "sexy one."

However, internet critics suggested that at 47, Ripa was too old to wear a two piece swimsuit.

However, when Consuelos noticed the insensitive comments, he was quick to defend his wife.

"I wanted to take a couple of days to weigh in. Probably should've earlier arguably. But I wanted to be above it. Well, not I'm not. I posted this pic of the women I most admire.

As a playful tribute to my wife who I'm proud of in endless ways. She works extremely hard in her professional life and her commitment to exercise, healthy diet is admirable and the benefits show. Yes she's wearing a bikini at age 47 and will no doubt wear one for many years to come.

If that offends you in some way, if it triggers you, or some other psychosis you're suffering from, I suggest you get over it and get used to it. To all the males that had something negative to say. I suggest you bring it up with me if ever I'm lucky enough to run into you. I'm going to get back to my vacation now.

I love you @kellyripa... keep killing it."

Earlier this month, Ripa told Us Weekly that while Consuelos hates interacting with internet trolls, she's fine with fight back.

"He hates it, but I love it," she explained. "I try not to even focus on that kind of stuff, but once in a while it's fun because I'm from New Jersey, so I don't take any of that too seriously. If someone gives me a hard time, I give them a hard time right back."
