Lifetime Announces The Stars Of Its Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Movie

There's no denying that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's real-life fairy tale romance is one for the books, but apparently, it's also for the small screen.

The pair, who got engaged in November, met on a blind date in Toronto, Canada after a mutual friend set them up, but they kept their relationship private for the first six months.

After nearly a year of speculation, Harry and Meghan finally made their first official public appearance as a couple at the 2017 Invictus Games in the city where their love story began.

Their lives have been at the center of media attention ever since, and with their upcoming nuptials, the hype isn't about to die anytime soon.

BravoTV

Back in January, it was revealed that Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle's fairytale romance will be the subject of a Lifetime movie titled Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story.

Now, Lifetime TV has announced the stars who will be portraying the Prince and the royal-to-be in the upcoming biopic.

The film will chronicle Harry and Meghan's love story, from their first date all the way up to their engagement.

"Harry & Meghan chronicles the courtship and love story between a beloved prince and his new fiancée," read the sypnosis on Deadline.com. "The film will examine the history of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from the moment they met after being set up by friends, through their initial courtship when they were able to keep their romance under wraps, and ultimately the intense global media attention surrounding their relationship and Meghan's life as a divorced American actress."

Considering how private the couple has been when it comes to the details of their relationship, it will be interesting to see how the movie plays out.

ABS-CBN

The film, which is set to premiere sometime this spring, has finally announced its two leads, but we're unsure how we feel about one of their choices.

Actors Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser have been picked to play Meghan and Harry, respectively.

Fitz-Henley, 41, is probably most recognizable for playing the role of Reva, in the Marvel Netflix series Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. She also had a recurring role on the British mini-series The Loch, and appeared on the royal-themed PBS series Victoria.

When it comes to Harry's small screen counterpart, Fraser, the British-born actor also plays a major role in The Loch as the police officer, PC Jason Denny. Fraser is also set to guest star on VIctoria as a Scotsman named Ewan.

As far as resemblances go, Fitz-Henley appears to be a very good choice to play Meghan, but Fraser, while handsome, just doesn't seem to look anything like the prince.

Filming is scheduled to begin this month, so it's only a matter of time until we get a premiere date. It is highly likely that the movie will make its debut shortly before the couple's May wedding.

This isn't the first time that a royal couple's story has gotten the Lifetime treatment. They have previously released a film, William & Kate: The Movie, depicting the romance between Prince Harry's older brother, Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.
