Linkin Park Kicked Out of AMAs After Receiving Trophy

It wasn't an easy year for the American rock band Linkin Park. They lost their lead singer, Chester Bennington, who committed suicide at the age of 41, this July.

At this year's American Music Awards (AMAs), which was aired on Sunday, the band that started out in the mid-90s with early hits like "Numb" and "Breaking the Habit" won Favorite Alternative Rock Artist.

They competed with more current, popular bands like Imagine Dragons and Twenty One Pilots.

When the band members went to receive the award, they were applauded for their achievement. They even gave an emotional speech honoring the late lead singer.

But after they walked off the stage, they were all kicked out of the show!

If you're not a die-hard Linkin Park fan, it's easy not to recognize the band members.

Also, their look back in the early 2000s, the time in which they gained popularity, was nothing like what it is today.

Apparently there was an issue with their credentials, and the security personnel were unable to recognize the band who had just won an award, so they were escorted out.

While still holding the trophy, they were unable to get back into the main award show venue and had to leave the AMAs.

One band member recorded a video of what happened. He wrote, "Security is looking for us" and "They're deciding whether or not to kick us out."

Here's a video by Rock Feed that explains how Linkin Park got kicked out.

Mike Shinoda, a co-founder of the band, alluded to the misfortune on Instagram.

Well, at least they got to meet and take pictures with some famous celebrities like Jared Leto.
