Mario Lopez, or as he's known around here, the Ageless Wonder, is one of the most successful child actors of his generation. If I asked you to name someone from Saved By The Bell, you'd probably say Lopez first.
Now, he's a father of two who also hosts the daily entertainment show, Extra. Lopez is scandal-free, which is refreshing for a child star who grew up around the constant glamour of Hollywood. One thing that surely helped Lopez stay on the straight-and-narrow is his steady faith.
Lopez grew up in a Catholic family, and to this day he still goes to church every week.
“It’s important for me that my kids have a faith-based education, so obviously they’re in Catholic school," Lopez said in an interview. "I’m always proud to promote that I am Catholic. I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve just tried to build a more spiritual muscle in a business that is very unpredictable. It’s nice to have something that is consistent in our life — family and faith is that for me.”
Just recently, Lopez traveled to Nazareth, the Sea of Galilee, Mount of the Beatitudes, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Jordan River, where he experienced a Catholic ritual others could only dream of.
